Bulk Carrier Jalma Topic
On July 12, 2021, about 0323 local time, the bulk carrier Jalma Topic was transiting upriver on the Lower Mississippi River near New Orleans, Louisiana (mile 93.5), when it lost steering and struck a barge with an office accommodation structure on the bank.1 None of the 3 persons on the office barge or 20 persons (19 crew and a pilot) on the Jalma Topic were injured. The office barge and moorings sustained damages estimated at $6 million. The bow of the Jalma Topic sustained an estimated $215,000 in damages. No pollution or injuries were reported.

DESCARGARGALWAD-Y-MOR (BRD 116)
On 15 December 2020, the 14.95m crab potting vessel, Galwad-Y-Mor, disturbed a piece of unexploded ordnance on the seabed while recovering crab pots in the North Sea, approximately 22 nautical miles off Cromer, England. The ordnance detonated and the ensuing explosion threw Galwad-Y-Mor up from the surface of the sea, causing significant crew injuries and damage to the vessel. The crew were rescued and evacuated to localhospitals and Galwad-Y-Mor was later towed to Grimsby.

Shortly after 1003 on 27 January 2021, the whelk potter Nicola Faith left its home port of Conwy, North Wales and headed out to its fishing grounds with three crew members on board. Their intention was to relocate eight strings of pots to fresh fishing grounds and to haul, empty and reshoot strings of pots that had already been laid in that area. The crew fished and relocated pots throughout the day. Nicola Faith was reported overdue the following morning and an extensive search began, but no sign of the missing vessel was found. A wide-ranging underwater search then started.

At 0636 on 4 August 2018, the UK registered container vessel ANL Wyong and the Italian registered gas carrier King Arthur collided 4 nautical miles south-east of Europa Point, Gibraltar. Both vessels were damaged but there was no pollution or injury
